QQC #7

Quote: "Attacks on one's form of expression with the intent to censor are a violation of the First Amendment. El Anglo con cara de inocente nos arrancó la lengua. Wild tongues can't be tamed, they can only be cut out."
Question: At what point does forcing people to assimilate become less about them fitting into our culture, and more about us feeling better about ourselves for being around people similar to us? Is stripping someone of their culture, like cutting out their tongue so to speak, even a humane act?

  1. Both of those actions are synonymous with each other, they are essentially the same thing. When a majority feels threatened they are most likely to eliminate all potential threats, including those who are somewhat different culturally or socially. It is certainly not humane, but it has happened throughout history and will continue to happen.
