QQC 5

Quote: "When women began to speak outside the home on moral issues and on matters of public policy, they faced obstacles unknown to men. Further, once they began to speak, their words often were not preserved, with the result that many rhetorical acts by women are gone forever"

Question: Would you say women still face these "obstacles"? How have they changed?

  1. I believe this still is a major problem in today society. Women are finally being heard but men are still trying suppress woman's voices. I find that women's voices and words were not heard or preserved throughbout history. What knowledge would we have gained if women's voices weren't suppressed or being suppressed now. I think you'd find that we would gain so much more than we already have. I believe our society has changed a little but not to ilthe full exctent that it should be. Woman's voices should be heard and should be recorded.

  2. I do believe women still face a wide range of obstacle that men cannot relate to, even for doing something as seemingly simple as expressing an opinion. There's an obvious double standard in our society that holds women accountable for certain acts that men do not have to deal with. This goes to show how certain ideals and stigmas stick with our culture even as it becomes more progressive.

  3. I believe that women are still having a hard time to speak out of the home. I feel that men do not listen to women because they are the "dominant" sex. However, women do not let that get to them considering all of the women rights protests that happened when President Trump was elected into office. Women will forever fight for equal rights.
